If your cup of tea is a more ‘conventional’ style of accommodation, The Faralya Hotel is about 2km from Yuva. Set in the mountains, on its own, away from towns and resorts and cooled by the shade of pine and olive trees, the Faralya affords magnificent views of the Aegean coast.

Live a healthy lifestyle in breathtaking surroundings. Relax on a sun lounger by the hotel swimming pool and soak up the sun, walk in the mountains or to a secluded beach, or take the local bus to the ‘blue lagoon’ Ölüdeniz (about 20 minutes drive). Optional activities available from Ölüdeniz include, scuba diving, paragliding, boat trips, archaeological excursions...

Accommodation:

Is in large, twin and double-bedded rooms. Each room has a bath/shower and W.C., some rooms have sea views. These rooms may also be rented as single rooms. The Faralya can accommodate up to 30 guests. The pool and vine-covered dining area are spacious and have fantastic sea and mountain views.

The food:

Turkey is famous for its range of vegetarian fare. Mercimek corbasi thick red lentil soup is a favourite. Meze is the collective name given to a wide range of small dishes, many of them vegetarian, i.e. biber dolmasi green peppers stuffed with rice raisins and pine nuts, sigara boregi cheese filled pastry rolls, saksuka aubergine, tomatoes and hot peppers in olive oil... The Turkish hosts prepare breakfast and one set meal every day. A vegan option is available, if requested with your booking. The dining area is a vine-covered terrace, with views of the sea. Breakfast consists of: village baked fresh bread, local mountain honey, yoghurt, marmalade, eggs, cucumbers, tomatoes, feta cheese, coffee, tea, or herb tea. The Faralya is not an exclusively vegetarian establishment, but the kitchen is very hygienic and the home-cooked food is delicious.

A typical evening menu at the Faralya:

• Rice and Salads
• Fresh Fruit from the garden

Breakfast and dinner every day are included in the price. Drinks are not included. Other meals, snacks and drinks are available from the hotel at extra cost. Prices are very reasonable; average cost of a 2-course meal is £6.

Transport:

A local bus stops on the quiet road outside the hotel 3 times per day (approximately 8.45, 12.00, 17.00) and up to 6 times per day June - September. The journey to the shops, restaurants and main beach at Ölüdeniz takes approx. 20 minutes. Local taxis are available. Mountain bikes and cars are available for hire. The nearest secluded sea swimming is 35 mins on foot, or 5 minutes by car and then 15 minutes on foot.

Price:

£190 per person for 7 nights, £360 for 14 nights. Prices include breakfast and dinner every day. Single occupancy supplement £50 per week (limited availability). Child 0 - 12 half price, sharing parents' room.

Transfer from Dalaman Airport:

Private Transfers costs £45 one way, £90 return for up to 2 persons (3 persons and over: £16 each one way, £32 each return). Transfers for flights arriving/departing Dalaman 00.00hrs - 06.00hrs, £10 supplement each way.

Optional Extras:

(approximate prices payable in Turkey) Local bus to shops and beach: £1 each way. Beach entrance and sun-bed at Ölüdeniz £6 (there is a free beach too), Car Hire: from about £35 per day. Mountain bikes can be hired at reasonable rates. Boat trips from Ölüdeniz £8. Excursions to archaeological and sacred sites: approx. £20. Paragliding: £70 per session. Other possibilities include: Scuba diving, water skiing, rafting, parascending...

Getting there:

The Faralya is 1 hour 30 mins drive from Dalaman Airport. We can help you to arrange flights and transfers. (VegiVentures does not sell flights. Flights are payable direct to our recommended ATOL licensed agent). Holidays at the Faralya usually begin and end on Mondays.

Special Considerations:

We rate the Faralya as a two star hotel. Rooms are cleaned and linen is changed once per week (you can ask for this to be done more often, if you wish). The sea is about 30 mins on foot from the Faralya, (or 5 minutes drive and then 15 minutes walk). The nearest shops are 20 minutes by car or bus. The beautiful mountain road is unsurfaced and has breathtaking views. Transport arrangements are as described above. If you would like more flexibility, we suggest you hire a car. We can help to arrange this in advance, if you wish.

These breaks are ‘independent’. They are suitable for single people who are happy to travel independently, and for couples and families. The Faralya has a strong, friendly connection with Yuva, and your Turkish hosts will make you very welcome. There is no VegiVentures rep or guide service. Our transfer arrangements include meeting you at Dalaman airport, and transport back to the airport for your return flight.
