Visitors to Turkey must have a 10-year passport valid for at least 6 months after your return date. British passport holders will be asked to purchase a visa on entry into Turkey. Please take a clean crisp Bank of England £10 note with you to present to customs on arrival. For all other visa enquiries please telephone the Turkish Embassy 24hr helpline on 090 683 47348, or see the web site: www.turkishconsulate.org.uk
No obligatory inoculations are required for those visiting Turkey. Please check the Turkish Consulate web site: www.turkishconsulate.org.uk for up-to-date information.
Local currency is the Turkish Lira. Most places accept sterling. It is advisable to take sterling cash or travellers cheques in sterling. You can obtain some lira in the UK before departure, or on arrival at Dalaman airport.

Q. Is it OK to come on my own? Will there be other single people?
A. YES. We welcome couples and families and many of our guests are single people, individuals travelling on their own, so you will be in good company.
Q. Is this part of Turkey safe?
A. Yes, female or male, you can wander freely around Faralya village and the local countryside. The people are overwhelmingly kind, friendly and helpful. Respecting cultural traditions, such as modest attire, helps to keep it this way.
Q. Do I have to be a strict vegetarian?
A. Not at all, many of our guests are vegetarian or vegan. At The Eco Lodge itself the food is purely vegetarian and very often we find that usual meat-eaters enjoy the experience of real vegetarian and vegan cuisine. For those who simply cannot face the idea of a meat-free holiday, we suggest the Faralya Hotel which is not strictly vegetarian.
Yuva is a family-run holiday retreat, not a hotel, although we will of course take care of you. A small amount of self-help is appropriate and appreciated. The group dining area is 2 mins walk from the rooms, right by the sea. Accommodation is fairly basic and rustic. All beds have mosquito nets. Rooms are cleaned and linen is changed once per week (you can always request extra linen and towels mid-week).
Yuva is well off the beaten track, set on 40 acres of environmentally protected natural forest, in a wild mountain area. It consists of the rooms, two outside kösk (typical Turkish cushioned seating areas) and a yoga platform with unparalleled sea and mountain views.
8 minutes’ walk in one direction, there is a secluded rocky cove that gives access to the sea for swimming and snorkelling. 8 minutes walk in the other direction is another stunning rocky cove with a small rock and shingle swimming area. When the sea is calm, you can swim from the rocks just by the dining area. The ground around Yuva is rough, uneven, steep forest paths and mountain tracks, which can be slippery. The narrow mountain road to Faralya village is partly unsurfaced, steep and spectacular. The final approach to Yuva is 15 minutes walk (1 km) down a steep, unsurfaced, uneven forest road. (Some vehicles can get down this road, and if you need a ride up, we can usually provide it). Transport arrangements are as described. If you would like more flexibility, and you are a competent driver, we suggest you hire a car; a 4×4 is recommended. We can help to arrange this in advance, if you wish.
We share this pristine environment with the local wildlife of the forest and sea. Many interesting species have been spotted at Yuva including porcupine, bee-eater, wild boar, scorpion, dolphin, flying fish, loggerhead turtle, and a variety of reptiles, spiders and insects.
NB. If you are looking for a resort with swimming pool, air-conditioning, cafes, shops, sandy beach and night-life, Yuva is definitely NOT for you. The nearest shops, bars, restaurants, etc are over 8 miles away. The nearest (shingle/sand) beach is at Kabak Valley, a stunning gorge 4 miles away (1hr 30mins on foot). For guests, Yuva is a 'no smoking' area.
